Tucson to Apache Junction--Jan.29th to Feb.3rd

Jan.29th we spent the whole day at the Old Tucson Studios--a historic movie studio that has hosted over 300 film and TV productions since 1939 including Western film classics such as "Rio Bravo","The Outlaw Jose Wales" and "Tombstone". John Wayne did 7 movies here. We saw comedy stunt shows, gunfights and can-can dancers. We rode the train and stage coach. We did the haunted mine tour. It was a great time and beautiful weather 23 Deg. C. We had dinner at Bubbs BBQ Grill near our RV park later on.

On Saturday we went to downtown Tucson. We rode the Old Pueblo Trolley through some of Old Tucson and the "hippie area". We toured some of the University of Arizona--a large and beautiful campus.

On Sunday we drove throught Saguaro National Park--a pretty mountain drive through millions of saguaro cactus. We stopped at Costco afterwards.

Monday Feb. 1st we said goodbye to John and Lynda who are off to Catalina State Park and then to south eastern Arizona. Ralph and I headed north west to Apache Junction and Golden Sun RV Resort for a month. Thank goodness we booked ahead--they are full up. We have a very nice corner RV site with a garden area--lots of hummingbirds and other birds. It was extremely difficult to get into but Ralph did a great job. We went to the pot luck supper that evening in the resort ballroom.

Since arriving in Apache we have been very busy doing laundry, grocery shopping,Walmart,
pedicure, nails, hair cuts. Tomorrow I go for a badly needed hair cut and color. I even went to bingo last night. Ralph went for a swim in the pool and had shorts on for the first time. The weather here has been very pleasant 70-72 F. (23Deg. C).
